چکیده

This article presents a new ultrasound transmission tomography reconstruction algorithm based on isometric fan-shaped beam along the straight trajectory for an original breast imaging system with cylindrical motion of opposite linear arrays. The computed and measurement scheme are described in detail. is derived. numerical phantom model built, including eight structures representing adipose tissue, glandular cysts, fibroadenomas, cancer, calcifications. Using one array as transmitter other receiver, attenuation distribution medium interposed between them reconstructed. However, limited angle usually plagued by artifacts depth image that cause shape distortion to be ellipses, which had impact accurate judgment size shape. B-mode images used prior information aid improving quality aperture reconstructions. Simulation results show number, location, size, cyst, fibroadenoma, calcification Moreover, quantitative analysis reconstructed demonstrates performance region interest has been greatly improved, verifies feasibility using two produced designed algorithm, allowing assessment morphology, orientation, internal structure, margins lesions tissue. ability create good arrays allows reconstructing three-dimensional cancer detection characterization studies.

Feature selection using genetic algorithm for breast cancer diagnosis: experiment on three different datasets

Objective(s): This study addresses feature selection for breast cancer diagnosis. The present process uses a wrapper approach using GA-based on feature selection and PS-classifier. The results of experiment show that the proposed model is comparable to the other models on Wisconsin breast cancer datasets. Materials and Methods: To evaluate effectiveness of proposed feature selection method, we ...

Ultrasound Tomography for Breast Cancer Screening

Both mammography and standard ultrasound (US) rely upon subjective criteria within the breast imaging reporting and data system (BI-RADS) to provide more uniform interpretation outcomes, as well as differentiation and risk stratification of associated abnormalities. In addition, the technical performance and professional interpretation of both tests suffer from machine and operator dependence. ...

An Algorithm for Predicting Recurrence of Breast Cancer Using Genetic Algorithm and Nearest Neighbor Algorithm

Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and the most common type of malignancy in women, which has been growing in recent years. Patients with this disease have a chance of recurrence. Many factors reduce or increase this probability. Data mining is one of the methods used to detect or anticipate cancers, and one of its most common uses is to predict the recurrence...

Ultrasound Diagnosis of Breast Cancer

Ultrasound is a popular imaging modality for its safety and low cost. Its role in the diagnosis of breast cancer is discussed, and its performance is then compared those of mammography (gold standard) and MRI. Besides conventional B-mode and color or power Doppler ultrasound images, latest development of acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) and supersonic shear imaging and their application ...
